Welcome to Dr Verina Wilde

BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist

Having worked for 30 years as a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) I have experience of a wide range of mental and physical health problems. I have worked extensively with adults, children, couples, families and groups to help them recognise and address the links between their distressing symptoms and the associated:

Thoughts and beliefs
Physical sensations
Behaviours and
Emotions

I have been a member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies since 1978. Further information about Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is available on their website: www.babcp.com

I am an experienced hypnotherapist, having trained with the British Society for Experimental and Clinical Hypnosis. As a member of the EMDR Association I integrate CBT with Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) wherever traumatic memories are a contributing factor. Where appropriate I integrate the principles of Mindfulness and Compassionate Mind Training into my work with clients. As examples, I work with:

Anxiety, Depression & Bereavement
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Return to Work Issues
Physical Health Problems
(e.g. Chronic Pain)
Medico-legal Work
